2) PICTOGRAPH
I choose a familiar topic for this pictograph. With my increased understanding of pictographs and my skills with Photoshop, I produced my second piece of work. I gained a better knowledge of the resources I could use to pull it all together by combining sizes of type and shapes to produce this image. For my rivisions, I chose a semi-transparent rectangular frame to cover most of the negative space in the ceiling of the graphic and adding type to portray the message. To make the pictograph look more realistic, I chose a background to give the pictograph a more industrial feel.
1) SIMPSONS
This was the first Photoshop design I made on my own. To make this entertaining image of Homer Simpson, I used all I had previously learned about layers, text, copying and stamping images, and other tools. As my understanding has grown, I have corrected my initial work by removing the original background color that was still able to be seen, and making the black lines surrounding the subject more consistent. In addition, I added additional Pinnacle Volleyball branding and colors.

3) WET LAYOUT
Within this WET layout, I chose a piece that I have written in the past, and decided to stick with the theme of golf. Adding images and text wrapping around them really brought this piece together. Adding the graphic at the top really shows the theme in a whole, the title grabs attention with the lighter stroke on the darker background. After revisions, I have added more Indesign effects, like a small gradient on the title and editing the text wrap to fit the text. I removed the text fill and added paragraph indentations to make it look more of a real article. Adding swing tips near the image showing the golfer swinging a club and moving the moving ball to the bottom right to show motion within the layout.

4) LOGOS
This was the most fun and creative I think I have gotten with InDesign, when creating the logos it was quite hard to think of something different for each one and having them fit into each category. But once I kept going, it all flowed together. Using shapes and effects was the key components when creating these, as well as strokes to make everything pop. There were very few revisions I made, including changing the serif fonts on the faculty and recruits to remove the descender from the "J", adding more effects to make the "302" stand out on the bottom two logos and moving the "302" that I had on the "N" of the students logo and moving it to the bottom so it was more vivid.
5) ADVERTISEMENT
When creating this advertisement, there felt as if there was always a lot going on. There were many revisions made to this design, to make it less busy. I used many techniques such as effects, shapes, and transparency. The biggest changes I made to this design through my revisions, was in the beginning I had a easter basket in the bottom right corner, I removed that and added more sunbursts effects that matched the colors of the eggs to add other colors. Many subjects were moved in the process, by removing the easter basket I was also able to make the logo bigger. There are many ways this layout could have been done, but I feel as if the way of display gets the point across.

6) INFOGRAPHIC
This infographic pinpoints which social media platforms have more accounts and people browsing through. This design isn't too intellectual, but making everything match together and flow from the top of the page down to the bottom. Through revisions, I changed the title to fit the theme, and changed the circles around to be least to greatest, showing sequence. Making the type all the same size and center aligning all the subjects into the circles made the layout a whole lot better. The colors are to call for a younger audience, as the information is quite surprising.
